Fragmented Fridays...

More fuel for my World War II plane obsession...

And another new obsession...

Blue nail polish on toes makes you look like you have some kind of strange toe fungus.

Weaning a 20 month old from breastfeeding is like forcing an unwilling alcoholic into rehab.

My son has a bit of a bully problem at school...he actually had to go the nurse last week because of one such incident. Argh.

Never let dad pick out a book at the book fair for the baby. He will always pick the most annoying one. In this case, the one that goes "quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack..." and the people working at the book fair will applaud when you walk out the door with it.

Anyone have any tips for a 6 year old that wets the bed every single night??

My brother was a bed wetter and believe it or not, we took him to a chiropractor who said his hips were out of alignment. A few sessions later, all was 'cured'.

Great fragments! As for bedwetting, one of our boys had this dilemma. We tried everything we no luck. He finally grew out of it. In other words, I am no help at all.

I'm trying to wean a 22 month old- and your analogy is spot on!

As for the bedwetting, I have no idea! My youngest brother wet the bed until he was 11; my mom tried so many things but nothing worked. His pediatrician said he was just a deep sleeper and never woke up with "the urge." He eventually outgrew it.

Oh man, it IS hard to get a baby off the booby!!!

No idea about the potty training, wet the bed thing but when you do get a really great idea, please share. I'm sure I'll be dealing with that sort of thing in no time.

Have a good weekend!!

I stick with reds on my toenails -- other colors kinda weird me out. Especially blue...it's like you have a circulation problem or something.

I tend to hide the annoying books. Bad mother.

Never had this problem with my son. But he wore a diaper until he was three.

I feel for you with the bully problem. My daughter had a problem with a bully a few years ago. It made me feel physically ill to take her to school each morning. But she had the most useless teacher on the face of the planet (long story, I'm a little bitter), so I knew it wasn't being dealt with properly. I'm sure your son's school takes it more seriously.

Would your six year old wear "Goodnights" to bed? I'm just wondering if taking away the anxiety over a wet bed would help.

My daughter had bed wetting issues as well-up until age 6-7. I runs in families (my niece was still at it until 11)and the pediatrician said that it was a matter of body maturity. A quick trip to the doctors couldn't hurt... Good luck!

I tried so many things for bed wetting. Earlier bedtime, no fluids an hour b4 bedtime, etc. Finally decided it was just a "growing" thing, until we decided (for other reasons) to give him some anti-worm medicine. Worked like a charm. Turns out some intestinal parasites can sit there quietly and have these side effects without us even knowing. (Scary I know). Try a quick trip to the doctor and be sure to ask about it.

Take a road trip to visit me and I'll take you to our war plane memorial museum. We can take a thermos full of margaritas and no children...

Okay like do we have the same children? Cuz my almost 6 year old wets the bed every night. Which...um...really sucks cuz he still sleeps in my bed ya know. And my 2 1/2 year old is a card carrying boobaholic. Think he's going to need BAA to get through this one.

Sorry, no help for the bedwetting. I wore blue toe nail polish on my wedding day and yes it does look like fungus...

Quacking books must go to goodwill.

My boys wore pull ups at night until they were close to 7 years old. They slept so soundly they just couldn't wake up at night, even if we tried.

Don't worry...your child probably won't need it in a year!

i'll let you on a secret, i did bedwet even when i was almost high school!!! (blush blush blush!) though it's hot, though i go up not just once in the middle of the night to pee..i always ended up waking up a little late to realize i'm on my bed and not on the john.

later on i read that it's also hereditary. yes it was! nope, not my parents, but a grandmom and an uncle. geez! are we dogs or what! then i have read also that it's highly likely that there is an emotional problem...i'm not sure anymore if i had before. all i remember is that i am a really sensitive child that goes into tears even with just a scolding.

i dont know with your 6yr old...maybe just too much drinking before bedtime? or a medicine that makes him have more water excretion (asthmatics like my grandmom and me)

i miss your visits dear...
