From the mouth of babes...and the Undertaker.

This week I helped out in Nick's kindergarten class.

It's always highly educational.

For me.

This week, I learned several notable things that I did not know before.

A friend of mine's son shared this with me:
"We were walking our dog and he pooped in someone's yard! So, we walked away really, really fast."
I'll have to ask his mom about that.

Or:

One particularly sweet girl looked at me and said:
"My daddy drinks beer, but he's not supposed to."
While another innocent 5 year old pretended to be chugging beer from his juice cup.

And:

"Bet ya don't know my name!" says boy.
"Sure I do," I said. "It's Vince!"
"NO! It's Vince the Undertaker!"

And I feel bad when I let my kid watch Spongebob.

It makes me worry about my reputation. What is my child saying about me? I really was kidding when I mentioned opening up that "medicinal" pot dispensary.

I am also in the process of revamping my blog. I'm tired of the way it looks so be prepared for some under construction traffic the next few days, or, um weeks. I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing or what I want to do, so it may take awhile for me to settle on a look. And any input is welcome! I know occasionally I'll read a new blog and hate something in the design so much, that I will be annoyed and leave. I don't want anyone to feel like that here, so if it's too busy, too messy, whatever, please let me know what you think, ok? Ok.

And I'm really writing this just to waste time. I have a cake that I need to have done for tomorrow and I'm not in the mood to do it. I'm kind of putting it off. I still have to make frosting, fondant, then sculpt the cake, decorate it...I guess maybe I should get to it. I'll be posting pictures of the final result on my cake blog this weekend. Unless it turns out really bad, then we'll just pretend we never had this conversation.

It's so funny to hear the things kids talk about. Though I always worry what my son says about me too!

Oh man, kindergarteners are the WORST secret keepers in the world!

As a teacher, I've heard many things that parents would hate to know I know. Ha! Kids just tell it like it is.

I love your blog layout. It's one of my favorite designs out there. But, I understand the need for change. I have to rearrange furniture every once in a while.

I chuckled listening to them. Thank you.

The best design template is the one you love the most.

I've always been scared to death of what my son says about me (like why I drink from the "fancy" glass so much).

And you were only there for a day. I can only imagine what teachers hear every day.

I am very curious about this as well (what the kids say about us that is). I guess we will never really know...

I can only imagine the things my own kids will say...

Have fun playing around with your blog! I finally think I'm done messing with my layout...but if it's annoying, PLEASE tell me.

I like your blog...but I get it...I am going to redesign mine too. I do leave peoples blogs when I cannot figure things out....there is too much, etc. Have fun and good luck (I think I am just going to hire someone)

OOOHHHH, I can't wait to see the cake!

My son once drew a picture in class of his dad with his fist up to his nose. The title the teacher was told to write down was "My dad with his coke habit."

I quit teasing him about his Diet Coke habit after that.

Awesome. One of Dominic's teachers is always impressed with the little gems he come out with...

How honest kids are. I would be bursting from wanting to laugh throughout the day after hearing all of that!

Hope the cake turned out perfect!

My 3-yr old nephew always tells me really embarrassing things about his dad - like that he sleeps naked, that he took a big poop last night, etc. It really is very entertaining and I would never tell my brother-in-law what his son is telling me about him!

Kids are so funny! I've heard my share of family secrets when helping out at school.

Just a suggestion for you as you redesign your blog. When I re-did mine, I started a new blog that I made private just to try different backgrounds and features. That way I didn't have to disturb my regular blog until I had exactly what I wanted. When I was happy with the "practice" blog, I just copied and pasted the code into my regular blog.

Love your pictures below. You did a great job of copying the Vargas looks and I am sure hubby is thrilled with them, and by the fact you wanted to do this for him....

This is one good reason to always be the parent in the classroom. Who else is gonna clap a hand over any stray comments from your child? Not the other parents. Listening is just too much fun for them.

TGIF and FF, the perfect way to end a week.

LOL. Yeah, kids say some wacky things. I work in a pediatric dental office. We have a mirror toy for the kids to play with. They stick their head or hand into the mirror and it's flipped upside down and duplicated. The other day, a little boy stuck his hand into it and yelled out to the entire office "MOM, LOOK! I'M TOUCHING MYSELF!"
