Magical elves and pin up girls

I know you have been out there, wringing your hands and fretting, wondering where I have been. *snicker* So, here I am, to set your mind at ease. Creepy Santa and his bulging sack did not come back to carry me off. Nope. Rather, it was my computer which"fried the motherboard", or so said the expert. Fortunately, it was still under warranty so they were able to replace it, free of charge. Unfortunately, it is apparently a rare and unusual motherboard that is made by magical elves that only work three days a year.

So it took a while to get it repaired. OK, so maybe it was only a week but it felt like forever. I started the new year without a computer. It’s been terrible. Possible foreclosure? Ah, no big deal. Repossessed cars? So what. IRS Levy? Oh well. No computer? What? WHAT? ARE YOU SERIOUS?? OH GOD? WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO NOW??

And that’s exactly how it happened. Pretty much.

In other news...I've decided what I'm going to do for my husband for Valentine's Day. I'm going to have boudoir pictures taken! I'm kind of excited about it. I going to have it done in the pin up style because I've always loved those old prints from the 40s and 50s. I love the hair and the styles. They managed to be sexy and innocent at the same time. I'm having them done by a friend who is really good at what she does. I'm really looking forward to it! I'm just not sure I can pull off the "sexy". My sexy face is more of a grimace, or a teeth baring snarl...rawr.

I am SO excited for you photo session! And totally jealous! I so wish I had the features to pull off a pin up/ 50's look! I'd tell you to post them but that would seem creapy and I doubt you'd want the world to share your intitmate moments with hubs.

Just know that I'm totally excited for you!

On another note: "Creepy Santa and his bulging sack' made me giggle uncontrollably. Guess I'm in the gutter today!

I would LOVE to have pics like that taken!
My hubby would probably have a heart attack and DIE but still...would die with a smile!
So..maybe I will hold off for awhile since I don't want him to have said heart attack.

I know someone who did this for her boyfriend. She shared the less racy ones. Not bad. Good idea.

Welcome back!

Wondered where you were. Glad you're back. The pics are a great idea. You are so "romantical" as Olive Oyl would say.

Oh, how romantic! I've always wanted to take such photos, and I don't know why I haven't. I'm only getting older.

Well, after you get the pictures taken, just send me a copy and I will tell you if they are sexy!:) hehehehe!

Based on your profile picture, I think you can pull of that type of style just fine. That will be fun and I'm sure they'll be just lovely!

that's a great theme! I'm sure he's gonna love it....I had computer issues over the summer, it was kind of a wake up call as to how much time I spend on the computer...but it didn't take me long to get back to normal :)

Homemaker Man said...

They you are. We lost the use of one computer entirely AND the partial use of another. Was I involved in both incidences, you wonder? What're you a cop? MYOB. Sheesh.

glad to have you back...i know how you felt about that week-long, i've been a victim of that myself months ago.

thanks for the visit, and yes, i'll be hoping to see you more on my newly constructed earthy me ;)

I love the boudoir photo idea! Very nice! Just don't hang them up where other people might go. I went to a friend's house once where his mother had pictures of herself in a negligee, framed and hung up in the bathroom. Freaked me out a little. Saw more of her than I wanted to.
Glad you are back!

I've been trying to post a comment for almost an hour - my computer is so slow. I wiish it would breakdown already, so we could just go out and get a new one.

The picture idea is awesome! :)

that's a really thoughtful idea. i think my husband would fall over dead if he got ANYTHING, much less some sexy photos of me. please tell me that is normal for being married 19 years. i hope i am not just a bad wife.

What a great idea for a Valentine's gift - and you can totally pull it off well. I'm not sure my sweetheart would like something like that. My ex-husband would have loved it, though! He loves the Elvgren pinups.

There's nothing worse than a fried computer!!

Meanwhile, I agree with everyone else. Boudoir photos are a great idea.

What an awesome idea; if I could pull it off I would totally do it. Somehow, I don't think even my husband wants to see me dolled up with milk-leaking boobs and black circles under my eyes :P

That sounds like so much fun! Great idea. I wish I had the time/money/babysitter to do it myself. Someday!

You can pull off the sexy part because it was never overt sexiness that pin up girls had. There was always the "can bring her home to meet the folks" quality about them.

Great idea!

Glad to hear that he didn't return!!
Also glad you're back ~ we were lost without you!!!

Just reading your "about me" has sucked me in...I am too a mom dealing with lifelong depression. Nice to know I'm not alone.

Great idea for a gift. I have no doubt you can pull off sexy. You can also do some of those innocent, coy, "are those my stocking falling down" pictures.
